Fear, The Shape Shifting Monster

Yes, I think fear is a shape shifting monster, a mythological bogeyman, and like all the other bogeymen it does not exist. Fear is a disabling illusion and probably the most powerful illusion you can ever come across. It takes its power from people. Every time you give in to your fear it grows bigger, becomes more powerful. In time it will stop you from enjoying your life. It can even stop you from moving forward in life. In the past I thought there was a healthy dosage of fear that would protect people but now I don’t think that it’s called fear. İt’s just our instinct, our gut feelings warning us very strongly. It’s not fear. Those warnings that make you feel like running the other way are not based on fear. They are your instincts saving your butt. On the other hand, fear is very often paralyzing. İnstead of moving you to the right direction away from danger, fear leaves you trapped and vulnerable.

I call it a shape shifter because fear can morph into different forms. Sometimes you think you are afraid of one thing and it turns out that you are afraid of something completely different. I was doing all sorts of things to release my fear of mediumship and cleared the most of it but there was still some deep rooted fear I couldn’t remove. Finally in a meditation I asked Archangel Michael what was the real reason of this fear. He said I wasn’t afraid of my mediumship anymore but I was afraid of who I truly am and would become. I simply disabled myself from being my myself by through my fear of mediumship because it was one of the most important aspects of my truer self. İt enabled me to connect with the other realms and to learn from them. I’m sure you can also remember and discover other examples where you think you were afraid of something but it turned out there was another fear behind that.

Fear is very often used by our ego to keep us ”on a leash” so we wouldn’t do anything that would threaten our ego. I think that the biggest threat to the ego is a change in the positive direction, growth in other words. That is exactly why change almost always brings fear with it. Our egos are very simple and primitive. They are focused on keeping us alive and stagnant (because it’s ”safe”) no matter the environment we are in. If we are alive that’s enough for our ego. İn some ways ıt ıs lıke women who are afraid of leaving a physically abusive relationship. You often hear such bad relationships excused wıth words lıke ”At least I know what how to deal with this. God knows what’s gonna happen out there! ” I saw my own mother not being able to leave her abusive marriage for long years because she was afraid not being able to stand her own feet and take care of us. She was well educated and had a steady job so there wasn’t any apparent reasons why she could not be ındependent. but she was ”afraid”. See, fear doesn’t need a reason. It’s just there. That’s why F.E.A.R is a good acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real :) You might wonder, then, how does fear start.

There are several causes for fear. You could learn fear from your parents, teachers, and friends. You can create fear out of certain past life traumas. That’s exaclty why there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution for healing your fears. You are all very unique and have different backgrounds. It’s very important that you analyze and find the cause of your fear, but it’s even more important that you don’t keep analyzing the fear ıtself. You can magnify the fear but dwelling on in rather than its cause. More ımportant than knowing the causes of fear you must know and remind yourself that it is always possible to heal yourself. You can always get help with both processes (finding the cause and healing) from professionals both in spiritual practice and psychology. Both traditions have many tools to offer along the way. Please, be patient with yourself and don’t hurry with anything. Of course you can heal very quickly but healing fast shouldn’t be the focus. Healing for good is more important. That’s also why finding the cause is a very healthy approach. Heal the cause, and it won’t come back with a different form.

Facing my fears headfirst helped me big time but I know it’s not the same with everyone and you might need more time to strengthen yourself before facing your fears. You can also work with angels (especially Archangel Michael) to be cleared from your fears. He helped me a lot in the process of finding the causes of my fears. I work with him very often and ask him to clear away the fear from my body and mind because fear can be as sickening physically as much as emotionally. Using positive affirmations to change the negative thought patterns that cause fear also helps big time. In my mother’s case it was her love of us, her children opened her eyes to understand that it wasn’t in anyway right to succumb to fear and accept abuse. She realized her own human limitations. Love taught her the humility to understand this. She is still surprised that she couldn’t see back then during the marriage that she was already standing on her own feet plus carrying my father with her. I personally prefer that you don’t let fear push you up against your own human limitations. Let love teach you that you can move away from fear now. Just reach out and ask for help. Ask your angels, your god, your friends, your own higher-self, any resource you can find physically and spiritually. Remember that you don’t have to do it alone but you really have to do it:)))
